Export Director of Ponte 1948

Ponte 1948
The Ponte winery has been working with the best wine growers of the Veneto region for over 70 years.
Ponte was founded in 1948 as a result of the tenacious determination and ambition of a small group of winegrowers who joined forces to tackle the challenging post-war years and the period of reconstruction. The winemaking company currently boasts 1000 winemaking families farming 3000 hectares of land throughout the Veneto region.
Today we increasingly represent a benchmark in every aspect of our operations, not just production but also on a social, environmental and territorial level.
We have always put people at the centre of everything: the heart of the company is those who work passionately day in, day out, like a big family. This unwavering commitment of one and all is essential in order to offer our clients only the finest wines, spreading the values synonymous with Ponte and the Veneto region around the world.

Elena Zeni

5th generation winemaker at Zeni 1870 Winery

A FAMILY-OWNED WINERY KNOWN FOR CREATING BEST QUALITY ITALIAN WINES
FOR OVER 150 YEARS
Zeni 1870
The story of our wine cellar starts with Bartolomeo Zeni in 1870: painter by passion, but carter by profession, Bartolomeo Zeni transported the goods of his region, like fish, olive oil and wine to the villages along the shores of Lake Garda and even to Lombardy. Among all the carried goods, wine was the one he was mostly familiar with, to such an extent that, besides carting it, he started trading it.
Fausto, Elena and Federica Zeni grew up in a world of wine and are the pulsating heart of the winery. They understood to catch their father’s philosophy and managed to successfully carry it over to recent days, winning not only a multitude of awards, but also the confidence of respected restaurants and clients all over the world.
The complementary specifications of each of them help to build a strong managing board for the winery within the family that leads a qualified team: Fausto as oenologist and agronomist is helped by his sisters Elena and Federica, who are specialized in export and sales, as well as enotourism and group hospitality. They are guided with wisdom and experience by mamma Mariarosa, a true pillar of the family.

Elena Zeni – Bio
I am Elena Zeni and I am from one of the most wonderful places in the world, the Veronese wine region. I grew up in a family where the vines, the winery and the wines were the talk of the day. My father, who passed away fourteen years ago, always showed me, my sister and my brother all the good and bad things about the unique job of the grape-grower and the wine-maker.

I still have in my mind the flavours and wonderful memories of those times where I didn’t realise that I was learning something very important and developing into the person that I am today. For me to have had the chance of growing up in a wine family is so important. That is because nothing should be taken for granted and when you work with the soil, with mother-nature and with other people, you should be very respectful. I remember the hard times we had during some bad seasons. Working hard all year and then losing everything. Since a young age I have learnt to always look forward, accept the bad things and turn them into better ones. Since my father passed away I carry on this great passion together with my sister, my brother and our mother. Every day is a new chance of doing better and of learning something new.
I believe I have the best life I could ever have asked for.
