Greetings from the Chairman |
| |
May the 4th be with you! I love making this statement every May 4th, and if you are reading this, you will either know that it is 'Starwars Day' or you will be educated. On a more serious note: I hope that that force will be with you this month.
This month, we are delighted to announce that the Danish Chamber has hired Mr. Steen Olsen as Office Manager. Please help us to welcome him into our community.
In other news, on Tuesday, April 25th. the board of directors has also constituted the board as per the Bylaws of the Chamber, and the roles for 2023 remain unchanged:
Chairman: Mrs. Anita Vogel Vice Chairman: Mr. Poul R. Kristensen Secretary: Mr. Thomas Andersen Treasurer: Mr. Martin Raffli
On behalf of the entire board, we are proud to serve the Danish Chamber and the community in Hong Kong. Thanks to our members for your support. Without you, there would be no Chamber, and we are excited to serve you in 2023. Remember, we are here for you - so feel free to get in touch if you have events or ideas you would like us to facilitate.
On our website: www.dcc.hk, you will always be able to see the latest activities of the Chamber. We encourage our community to use our platform to socialize and network. Below you will see the activities for May - with the boundary to the mainland now open; we will also share the events from Danish Chamber China. Therefore you will now have two opportunities to celebrate Sankt Hans.
All the best,
Yours,
Anita anita@dcc.hk |

Welcome to Mr. Steen Olsen, New Office Manager |
| I'm happy to join DCC and look forward to supporting Danish companies and the community in HK to grow their network and business.
Besides working at DCC, I've for 10+ years been running my own business with trading and sourcing from mainly China, Indonesia, and Vietnam to customers in Denmark, Germany, and Norway. Before starting my own business, I worked for 20 years at Coop Denmark's headquarters, mainly purchasing different non-food products.
I have lived in Yuen Long for the last 7 years with my HK wife, our 4 years old daughter, and 2 cats. Before that, I lived for 2 years in Shenzhen and 2,5 years in Shanghai.
I like sports and running in the nearby hills, playing badminton, and being a boxing coach in a small boxing gym in Lai Chi Kok.
See you at the coming DCC events. |

On Wednesday, April 26. DCC had the pleasure of welcoming the Danish Ambassador to China and Consul General in Guangzhou back to HK after 3 years of closed borders.
DCC also sends a big thanks to Arla Foods, ISS Facility & Service, Modern Terminals, and Saxo Markets for joining the DCC CXO Lunch and meeting with the Honorary guests from Beijing and Guangzhou: our Danish Ambassador to China Thomas Ostrup Moller and Consul General in Guangzhou Soren Bindesboll.
Ambassador Thomas Ostrup Moller and Consul General Soren Bindesboll did share the latest update from China on what the political, business, and economic trends and the forecast look like.
The corporate members who joined were able to share their perspectives, challenges, and outlook on the business in Hong Kong, which enabled the Danish delegation from Beijing to address some of the issues directly with John Lee, Chief Executive.
We look forward to seeing both The Ambassador and The Consul General again in HK in the future, to join events with the members of DCC. |
