And just like that, it's December!

With that, also the last newsletter of the year - and there are so many things that we would like to say to our DCC community = YOU, the recipients of this newsletter.

But most importantly - a big thank you! We really feel that we have come together as a community in the past year. From a DCC perspective, this is exactly what this platform is for and it has been great to see the forging of new professional connections and friendships. A network that helps each other when the going gets tough, shoulders to lean on, encouragement and help when things does not work out the way we plan.

Commemorating on the year that has gone - then it was amazing that we could send a small regatta of 4 junks to sea for our annual Mid-Summer junk. It felt very special and it made waves in the business chamber community that the Danish Chamber was able to gather that many people. And as if that was not enough, then the community also had no issues waking up in the middle of the night to watch the Danish National Football team in the EURO 2020. Fantastic memories made and this just goes to show, that our community is full of amazing people.

We greatly appreciate the support and engagement and are looking forward to see you on Saturday for our annual Christmas dinner where we will also celebrate our 25th. anniversary.

Business Person Of the Year (BPOY) is a long standing tradition with DCCC - Danish Chamber of Commerce in China. This year the Danish Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong was invited to bring forward candidates for the award.

We are proud to announce that Jakob Jeppesen, DSV - Global Transport and Logistics won the BPOY Hong Kong award and became the runner up for BPOY Greater China. Congratulations Jakob!

Jakob started off with DSV in Denmark back in 1994 – moving with DSV to Hong Kong in 1997. Jakob has held various roles with DSV from sales, commercial, branch, country and regional management responsibilities. Jakob is a passionate and true leader that encourages his colleagues to take ownership, find solutions, be pro-active and speak up.

In November we had the first ever Nordic Mahjong tournament in Hong Kong. And team Denmark took home the win! It was an important win, and we look forward to defending the championship next year. A huge thank you to our very talented Mahjong players - Amy Wan, Christian Lynaes and Poul Resdal-Kristensen!

Last week, DCC Chairman Anita Vogel, spoke at the Denmark-China Trade Exchange Meeting. Anita spoke about the various networking platforms for Danish and Chinese business' in Denmark, China and Hong Kong. The webinar was well attended with over 190,000 attendees.

As a follow up on this meeting a business matching event is planned for 2022. It will be a virtual expo with virtual meetings, live streaming of product show cases and on-going product listing after the event.
