Dear All,

September 2023 goes down in history as a wild ride in terms of disruption: typhoon Saola and the Black Rainstorms in the first half of the month put some areas of the city to a halt with the most extreme weather ever experienced. As I am writing this, severe typhoon Koinu is approaching.

Climate Change & The Next Generation Workforce

Extreme weather is not unique to Hong Kong; our planet is changing, and the climate is changing, causing severe droughts and increased precipitation, changing how people and animals live and putting pressure on food and water supply. And how does this relate to your business?

I believe it will have a massive impact on your business if you want to attract the next generation into your workforce. The weather is just a reminder that change is upon us: the next generations will have to live through the environmental changes and solve the related challenges, and they already now care that the trajectory should be impacted through changes implemented with a strong ESG agenda. Companies with a strong ESG agenda will be able to attract the workforce of the future.

Welcome Home Party on Saturday September 16

Thanks to everybody who joined the Welcome Home Party on Saturday, September 16. Nice to see both old and new members of the Danish community in Hong Kong. Nice atmosphere, nice food, and nice performance by Pia and Jakob

Lunch with CEO of Danish Patent and Trademark Office

CEO of the Danish Patent and Trademark Office, Sune Stampe Sørensen, visited Hong Kong on September 21st and 22nd. He had several meetings with Hong Kong Government officials to discuss IP rights and challenges to protect IP rights.

During his visit he also met with Anita Vogel, and she gave some insights and inputs from the corporate business perspective.

Talent and ESG: A Discussion on Hong Kong's Future

On October 4th. DCC corporate member ISS and Eurocham HK hosted a panel to discuss Talent, ESG, and Hong Kong's future.

It was great to welcome ISS Group CEO, Kasper Fangel and Regional CEO, Troels Bjerg to Hong Kong and share the latest insights on the business opportunities and challenges in the city.

Danish Design in Hong Kong - Normann Copenhagen Show Room in Central

Normann CPH has moved its showroom from Wan Chai to Central and can now be found on the first floor in Ruttonjee Centre, 11 Duddel Street.

Co-founder and CEO Poul Madsen and Simon Legald, Head of Design at NormannCPH were visiting from Denmark to mark the opening and to share the story and philosophy behind the brand.
