DCC HK - August Newsletter
Dear Subscriber,
Greetings from the Chairman
Greetings from the Chairman
Welcome to August!

Normally July and August are quiet months and most National Chambers would be closed down for holiday. Almost all members would have left to travel the world during the summer months, but that is not the case this year, so everyone is plugging on and activity levels remain relatively high.

I guess it is good for business whether a higher than usual demand needs to be met or a gap in the revenue needs to close - but of course a break is needed avoiding the dreaded 'burn out' in the midst of all the hurdles the covid virus is serving up.

To avoid a 'burn out', we believe that networking can help a lot. We are never alone with our issues and problems. Everyone has them and someone in the network might have found the 'way out' or can share competent advice to help others. The mere foundation for a Chamber of Commerce is for the network to benefit of each others insights and learnings. Sharing is caring! Especially during a global pandemic.

In July, the Chamber and the Seamen's Church provided the opportunity both to network and have a good time (one doesn't exclude the other) as we were cheering on the Danish National Football.
They kept us on the edge of our seats and the Danish Room was buzzing with happy roligans.
A great memory from the Summer of 2021!

We are now closely following the Danish Handball team - if they end up in final, we will take out our red and white shirts once again and meet in the Danish Room to cheer them on. We will post on Facebook if the event will happen. Tentatively Save the Date: Saturday 7th. of August, 19:00 and onwards.

The Nordic Networking Lunch on August 6th. has sold out. If you missed it, then look out for the September Lunch.

Wish you a fantastic month of August!

Anita

Welcome to new corporate Member - ESG Matters
DCC HK is very happy to welcome a new member to our community: ESG Matters.

We are not strangers, as ESG Matters was founded by Glenn Frommer who was also heading up the Environmental Committee at DCC HK prior to moving back to his native Denmark.
"With sustainability being a priority within all companies - we believe that ESG Matters can contribute and benefit greatly within our network" says Anita Vogel.

About ESG Matters:

"ESG Matters was founded by Dr Glenn Frommer, one of the pioneers of sustainability and the environmental movement. Since 2014, ESG Matters has been a creator of platform solutions to meet the needs of sustainable impact investing and green financing. Working closely with listed companies, SMEs, and various growing organisations, ESG Matters aims to address the global market through providing business process outsourcing (BPO) service, enabling solutions to achieve the relevant sustainable development goals (SDGs) and building resilience to climate change. "

July Board of Directors Meeting
On July 5th. the DCC Board of Directors met to plan ahead the activities of the chamber in Q3 and Q4. Our members can look forward to a range of networking events and business webinars in collaboration with DCBF. We hope that restrictions will allow us to meet.

While it is still not possible for our ambassador Thomas Østrup Møller, based in Beijing, to travel to Hong Kong we were happy that it was possible to meet online and exchange our local insights.

Next board meeting will be in September. We are always happy to get ideas and input from our members as to which activities you would like us to arrange. Just write to: dcc@dcc.hk
