Greetings from the Chairman |
| |
Kung Hei Fat Choi!
We hope you have enjoyed the beautiful Lunar New Year displays around Hong Kong, the impressive fireworks, the flower markets, and time with friends and family. If you were traveling, welcome back!
Welcome to February, a historic month when the US launched an international trade war, imposing tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China. Undoubtedly, we will see a massive shift in global business as countries and companies navigate a complex commercial scenario on short notice.
So, will protectionism work in 2025? Is it just a strategic play to create leverage? Time will tell, but for now, the commercial sectors and diplomats are switched on, eyes are peeled on the news, and countries and companies are preparing for all possible scenarios as the world's largest economy shakes the world agenda.
New challenge, new plans—all the hard work put into the 2025 budget must now be scrutinized again.
We hope you will still find time to attend the Padel event on February 9th—everyone is welcome. Please sign up below and note the other events lined up as well.
We wish you a fantastic month of February,
Kind Regards,
Anita Chairman anita@dcc.hk |

Dennis Jakobsen is coming to Hong Kong to promote his “ Welcome to Leadership” training – a leadership development process relevant for talents, new managers, or leaders with little prior training. Its central message is that leadership must be a profitable discipline. The program is pinned on my own 18 years of operational experience from A.P. Moller Maersk around the globe, and rests on the idea that strong leadership can be taught and trained – it’s for the many, not just the few. “ Welcome to Leadership” is a process with pre-work – the training – and 6 months of follow up with monthly 1:1 coaching as developing talents have to be a designed process. Learnings must match the company's growth rate and (future) requirements.
In our trainings 60-70% of the participants express alignments to leadership demands and steps forward in personal maturity within the process of 7-8 months.
There are only 2 spots left for the Hong Kong training March 26-28th. If you order your spot through DCC you will get a 25% discount. Please contact Office Manager Steen Olsen on dcc@dcc.hk if interested to join the training.

On January 9, 1950, Denmark broke through the dark clouds of the Cold War and became one of the first Western countries to recognize the People’s Republic of China, opening a new chapter in the history of China-Denmark relations. Over the past 75 years, China and Denmark have witnessed remarkable milestones in our bilateral relationship and cooperation. Recent years have seen frequent high-level interactions between our two countries, fruitful outcomes in pragmatic cooperation across various fields, vibrant and diverse people-to-people exchanges, growing friendship between our two peoples, and continued progress in the bilateral ties. This year marks the 75th anniversary of our diplomatic relations for which both sides will hold a series of celebrations. At this new historical starting point, China is ready to work with Denmark to earnestly act on the consensus between our leaders, further implement the Green Joint Work Programme, address global challenges, and work together for a community with a shared future for mankind. We are confident that, with the joint efforts of our two peoples, we will usher in an even brighter future for the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Denmark.
