Dear Subscriber,

Greetings from the Chairman
Greetings from the Chairman
Dear All,

A warm welcome to June - literally. With the temperatures soaring at 34 degrees and humidity above 80%, the countdown for the summer holiday in the northern hemisphere has begun.

As you will see below, we have many events and webinars lined up for you over the course of the next 4 weeks. These are picked especially for our community based on the feedback we get - if there is any area you would like more insight into, do let us know. We will do our utmost to accommodate.

On our website: www.dcc.hk, you will always be able to see the latest activities of the Chamber. We encourage our community to use our platform to socialize and network.
With the boundary to the mainland now open, we will also share the events from the Danish Chamber of China. Therefore you will now have two opportunities to celebrate Sankt Hans.

Have a fantastic summer!

Yours,

Anita

Dragon Tactics: Why Chinese Entrepreneurs Manage Differently and What Can Be Learned from It?
Dragon Tactics: Why Chinese Entrepreneurs Manage Differently and What Can Be Learned from It?
Aldo Spaanjaars, Owner of Dragon Strategies, together with Sandrine Zerbib, President of BAOZUN Brand Management & BAOZUN Europe, has co-authored the intriguing book "Dragon Tactics: How Chinese Entrepeneurs Thrive in Uncertainty" (2022), which presents a potent mix of China's four-thousand-year-old history, and management methods that borrow as much from Confucianism as from new technologies.

In this webinar, they will explore a unique apporach to business by analysing everything from the unexpected philosophies of Chinese leaders on competition, risk, profit, and failure to the role of family, which define the cultural spirit of a wolf pack: its observation skills, its respect of the leader's authority, its embrace of flexibillity, and more.

China as an M&A Market for Danish Companies
China as an M&A Market for Danish Companies
China has most recently sailed up to a top position within FDI. But how are Danish MNCs handling M&As in China and what differentiates the Chinese market from other markets? How are the targets localized and what advantages are there versus organic growth? What are the most common pitfalls and difficulties and what attracts a Chinese mid-market company to sell to a Danish corporate? How does the IPO vs M&A trend look like in the Chinese market?

We have invited Klaus Björkgren, Tony Wang and Sean Ni from Nordic Match to elaborate on these questions and to cover partnerships and Joint Ventures in China. With a mission to promote Sino-Nordic trade and investment, they provide advice to several of the Nordic MNCs for inbound M&As to China, and share their deep understanding of the market and local needs, ranging from idea generation to post transaction services.
