Greetings from the Chairman

Dear All,

September 1st.

I am certain most of us are monitoring the arrival of 'Saola' - a determinant super typhoon closing in on Hong Kong. Hope that you are all tied down and ready to ride out the storm. Against the force of nature, we can take precautions and wise decisions, but we have no control, so we sit tight and hope for the best. Hope.

Like business, it is sometimes the same. Smooth and stormy seas. Control and no control.

16 weeks left of 2023...

A lot must be managed with only 16 weeks left of this year. Companies enter the final quarter, which for many will be a defining period on whether budgets are met, or further work is required to navigate the balance sheets.

Network - a valuable resource

While we know everyone is busy - we hope to see you at our events. Much effort has been put into arranging them so you can benefit from extending your network and contacts - and have fun! Sign up and mark your calendars.

In times of disruption, uncertainty, and challenges - the most important thing is to keep your friends and family close and seek solutions in your network. We are very proud of our members - you are a resourceful network. I would be surprised if there were things we could not accomplish within the Danish Chamber of Commerce if we put our minds to it.

New DANES WORLD WIDE contact persons in Hong Kong

We are pleased to share that Danes Worldwide has a new contact person in Hong Kong: Lisa Kolling Petersen.

Lisa has volunteered to represent Danes Worldwide in Hong Kong alongside Pernille Jordy Nielsen.

We have asked Lisa to give a short introduction of herself:

"I've been living in Hong Kong for the last 7 years with my husband and 2 children, 12 and 14 years. For the last 23 years, I've been an expat in Asia.

My adventure started in Shanghai. I was supposed to stay there for 2 years, but interesting job opportunities kept coming. Finally, the stay became almost 11 years, 1 husband and 2 children. After Shanghai, we stayed 3 years in Dhaka and then 3 years in Jakarta before we arrived in lovely Hong Kong.

Besides coordinating our family's social calendar, I'm actively doing yoga, love to visit cafes with friends, and actively participate in different groups at our children's school.
